Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Rift Companion's website, downloads, and related services (the "Service"). The Service is provided by Jose Mariano Macri ("Rift Companion", "we", "us", or "our"). Contact: [email protected].
1. Agreement
By accessing the website, downloading the app, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be legally able to enter into these Terms.
2. What Rift Companion does
Rift Companion is a macOS companion app for League of Legends. It displays read-only game context: champion select information, rune and build guidance, matchup context, cooldown timers you manually mark, and gold-spent views. It does not play the game for you, automate game actions, inject code, read game memory, or write to the League client.
3. No Riot endorsement
Rift Companion is an independent project. It is not endorsed by Riot Games. Riot Games, League of Legends, and related marks belong to Riot Games, Inc. You are responsible for complying with Riot's terms and policies when using League of Legends and any companion tools.
4. License to use
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access the website and use the app for your own lawful, non-commercial personal use only.
No other rights are granted. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, rent, lease, publish, or create derivative works from the Service, its software, design, branding, or content — except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.
5. No redistribution
You may not redistribute the Rift Companion app, installer, website assets, design system, or any portion thereof through any channel, including but not limited to file-sharing services, app stores, mirrors, torrent sites, or bundled software packages. You may not repackage, resell, or sublicense the app under any other name or brand.
Sharing a direct link to riftcompanion.com/download is permitted and encouraged.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Rift Companion to cheat, automate gameplay, manipulate matchmaking, or violate Riot's rules or any law.
- Modify Rift Companion to inject code, read game memory, write to the League client, bypass anti-cheat, or automate player actions.
- Attack, overload, scrape, or interfere with the Service, except where allowed by law or our security disclosure policy.
- Use the Service to infringe intellectual property or other rights.
- Misrepresent that Rift Companion is endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Riot Games, op.gg, Apple, or any other third party.
- Redistribute the app, website assets, or data in violation of these Terms.
7. Third-party services and data
Rift Companion uses third-party data sources including Riot Data Dragon, local League APIs, and op.gg. These services may change or become unavailable. Build, rune, matchup, cooldown, and gold information may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Do not rely on Rift Companion as your only source of gameplay decisions.
8. Ownership
Rift Companion, including its software, website, branding, text, and original content, is owned by us or our licensors. Third-party game assets, names, marks, and data remain owned by their respective owners.
You acquire no ownership rights by using the Service. Any use of Rift Companion's name, mark, or design outside the scope of these Terms requires our written permission.
9. Feedback
If you send us ideas, bug reports, or suggestions, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. Do not send feedback you cannot license to us.
10. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also change or remove features that stop working because of League patches, macOS changes, or third-party policy changes. We may update these Terms; if changes are material, we will post the new date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend access if you violate these Terms or create risk for us or others. Sections covering ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and disputes survive termination.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not promise that Rift Companion will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every macOS or League version, or accepted under every third-party policy. We do not guarantee that using Rift Companion will avoid account penalties, gameplay issues, or other consequences. Riot's policies can change at any time; you are responsible for your own account.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, account penalties, or service interruption. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed USD $50 or the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, whichever is greater.
14. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Rift Companion and its owner from claims arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, contact [email protected] and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Subject to rights you cannot waive, disputes will be brought in the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York.
